The National Weather Service in Milwaukee has a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 6 PM CST. Residents should expect more snow and gusty winds that could make travel difficult and bring down tree branches, according to the National Weather Service.
Motorists faced with the morning rush hour were greeted by snow, which is forecasted to cease by 10 AM, followed by the possibility of flurries between 10 AM and 3 PM. Despite snowfall nearing its end, widespread blowing snow, primarily before 9 AM and winds gusting as high as 50 mph, means that visibility remains a concern, particularly after the snow has subsided. These conditions have led to a broader weather outlook that includes Patchy blowing snow before 7 PM tonight. "Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes," said the National Weather Service advisory.
Alongside the Winter Weather Advisory, a Wind Advisory is firmly in place through the evening for parts of east central and southeast Wisconsin. Winds are expected to range around 20 to 30 mph with potential gusts reaching up to 50 mph, and even 55 mph near the Lake Michigan shorelines.
