Milwaukee residents can anticipate a blend of seasonal weather conditions as we approach the final week of December, with forecasts predicting a mixture of sun, clouds, and possible rainfall. According to the National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI, today is expected to be mostly sunny with highs hovering around the low 40s, while tonight's temps are slated to dip to around 28 degrees.
On Wednesday, there’s a small chance of light rain in the afternoon, with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the low 40s. Christmas Day is expected to be similar—mostly cloudy and mild, with no snow in the forecast, as per the National Weather Service.
As Milwaukeeans look to get through the holiday and towards the weekend, a slightly higher likelihood of precipitation comes into the picture. "Rain likely, mainly after midnight," predicts the National Weather Service for Thursday night with the following day bringing a 30 percent chance of rain before noon. The evening leading into Saturday might stay dry, but the temperature is set to take a nosedive thereafter. A 20 percent chance of rain is expected for Saturday night with a sharp drop in temperature to follow on Sunday, where the high will barely reach the mid-20s and winds will pick up, ushering in a brisk close to the weekend.
The National Weather Service has not signaled any significant hazards other than the aforementioned slick conditions, and no spotter activation is deemed necessary. But, as always, the elements require respect and a cautious step when stepping out into Wisconsin's variable winter weather. "A few slicks spots will be possible on wet and untreated surfaces this morning," reminds the National Weather Service, urging diligence from the region's residents and visitors alike.
