Attention, care professionals and those involved with Minnesota's Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS): hold off on any additions or updates to service agreements for the upcoming week. According to a bulletin from the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), from December 5 through December 10, there will be a freeze on these entries. Lead agency staff, case managers, and MMIS data entry staff must wait until DHS issues the all-clear before making any changes or additions.
Those providing care through home and community-based services (HCBS) programs should note that the DHS is directing care professionals to a list of resources. This initiative aims to support those affected in the event that their employer discontinues services. While the pause on MMIS updates is temporary, its impact is expected to last beyond December 10. Hence, care professionals must prepare accordingly and utilize the resources provided for continued support of their essential roles.
In the realm of the Disability Services Division (DSD), DHS is currently seeking feedback on the Disability Waiver Rate System (DWRS) cost reporting processes. This call for input specifically reaches out to providers involved in cost reporting for various services, including residential and customized living services between the years 2021 and 2025. DHS is encouraging those with hands-on experience in this reporting to contribute their insights on how the cost reporting system's efficacy can be enhanced.
For those interested in offering their feedback or learning more about the requested hiatus on MMIS updates, or the resources available to care professionals, additional information can be found on the DHS official website.
