
Relief spread through Henry County today as the Sheriff's Office confirmed the safe return of William "Keith" Wakins. Missing since his departure in a recreational vehicle, Watkins' wellbeing had become a matter of public concern. The Henry County Sheriff's Office shared an uplifting update via social media.
The Sheriff's department expressed their gratitude in their Facebook post towards the community, stating, "William “Keith” Wakins has been located and is safe! The Henry County Sheriff’s office would like to thank everyone for your assist in locating Mr. Watkins!!". Watkins, who police said was last seen leaving his residence in an RV, had not been heard from since. The RV's last known whereabouts were near Watkins Ln and Highway 69 South in Henry County, Tennessee.
When Watkins was initially reported missing, the Henry County Sheriff's Office provided a description, listing him as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds, with grey/brown hair and brown eyes. His last sighting had him in a black short-sleeve t-shirt, blue jeans, and grey New Balance tennis shoes. Adding to the urgency of the search was the recent diagnosis provided by authorities, "William "Keith" Watkins has recently been diagnosed with Major Neurocognitive Disorder, Vascular type with behaviors," disclosed on the Henry County Sheriff's Office Facebook post.
The search for Watkins prompted assistance from community members and law enforcement, with authorities asking the public to remain alert for the distinctive RV or any sightings of Watkins. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office encouraged anyone with information to come forward. Officials confirmed that Watkins has since been located, bringing the search to a close.
