The Modesto Police Department reported that two cars were caught racing on city streets. One driver, a 17-year-old without a license, was driving 92 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. The Modesto Police Department posted on social media, "Reckless Driving Isn’t a Game." The vehicle was towed, and the teenager was cited for reckless driving.
Modesto Police Department emphasized road safety, stating, "Our Traffic Unit is out every day and night enforcing speed, racing, and other hazardous violations because we see firsthand what happens when things go wrong." They warned that reckless driving, especially street racing, carries serious risks and consequences.
According to the Modesto Police Department on their Facebook page, they urged drivers, "We want our community, especially our young drivers, to make safe choices, respect the road, and get home to their families." They concluded with a direct appeal: "Please slow down. Please drive responsibly. Your life, and someone else’s, depends on it."
