The Mohave County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help with a cold case from October 2000. A sketch and details are being shared of a man whose badly decomposed body was found near Lake Havasu. The victim, thought to be a white male between 20 and 40 years old, was found by boaters about three miles north of Sandy Point Marina, according to FOX5 Vegas.
Authorities continue to seek the identity of an unidentified man found in 2000, described as 5′10″ with brown hair and a mustache, wearing blue jeans, Reebok tennis shoes, and a t-shirt bearing the "Hot Boat Magazine" logo. Among his belongings were a Casio calculator watch, a utility knife, and a small flashlight inscribed with the initials "JKP," which officials hope might help someone recognize him, as reported by 8 News Now.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office originally released a sketch in January 2001, but no leads emerged. The Mohave County Sheriff's Office is now sharing the sketch and details through social media, urging anyone with information to contact their Special Investigation Unit at 928-753-0753 ext. 4408, referencing DR# 00-026283.
