The Union County Sheriff's Office in Monroe, NC, announced the arrest of Christopher Hahn after a joint investigation with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation into child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Law enforcement said Hahn downloaded and uploaded CSAM from a residence in the Waxhaw/Marvin area, leading to his arrest during a routine traffic stop.
After his arrest, detectives investigated Hahn further and found he used multiple social media platforms to view, download, and purchase CSAM, according to the Union County Sheriff's Office. A digital forensic examiner is also reviewing a phone and laptop for additional evidence.
Hahn faces 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. His bond was set at $300,000, and he is no longer in custody. The Union County Sheriff's Office noted the investigation is ongoing, and more information may emerge as digital devices are examined.
