The holiday season's heightened vigilance against impaired driving is in full swing, as the Montgomery County Police Alcohol Holiday Task Force intensifies its efforts to curb alcohol-related offenses. In a recent statement, the Montgomery County Police disclosed that within a span from November 26 through November 29, its officers have been working overtime, engaging in 216 traffic stops and handing out a variety of citations and warnings.

During this period, the task force issued 229 traffic citations, 267 warnings, and 54 repair orders. Officers also recorded one criminal citation, five alcohol restriction violations, conducted five breath tests, and arrested 15 individuals for DUI.

One impaired driver involved in a personal-injury hit-and-run was found with a firearm. This highlights the Task Force’s role in deterring impaired driving and preventing more serious crimes.

Montgomery County Police noted that the reported figures reflect only arrests made by task force officers and do not include additional arrests made by patrol officers during their regular duties. The total number of DUI arrests is therefore higher than the reported figures.
