
The streets of Montgomery County have been under vigilant surveillance this holiday season, as the Montgomery County Police Alcohol Holiday Task Force intensifies its crackdown on alcohol-related offenses. According to a recent release by the county, during just one week of their enforcement efforts, from December 10-14, the task force has been busy with checkpoints and targeted operations designed to keep the public safe.
In the latest update provided on Montgomery County’s official website, officers made 190 traffic stops, resulting in a multitude of enforcement actions. While conducting these stops, 372 traffic citations, 206 warnings, and 27 repair orders were issued. Moreover, the diligent officers managed to perform six breath tests and issue one criminal citation along with two alcohol restriction violations.
In terms of arrests, the release further indicates that one criminal arrest was made and 23 individuals were taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence (DUI). Thus, the comprehensive number of DUI arrests during this period stands even higher.
