A narcotics investigation initiated by the Moorpark Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) detectives on the 14000 block of Avenida Colonia led to multiple arrests earlier this month. According to a news release published on December 8, detectives targeted a residence linked to narcotic sales. Vanessa Gonzalez emerged as the primary suspect after a series of investigations, with a search warrant for the residence subsequently being granted by a Ventura County Superior Court judge.
On December 5th at approximately 7:10 AM, detectives from the Moorpark SEU, Moorpark Investigations Bureau, and the East County SEU served the residential search warrant. Authorities found methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, and evidence indicative of narcotic sales. The news release detailed, "Detectives located 4.6 gross grams of Methamphetamine, 0.61 gross grams of Fentanyl, and 200 gross grams of Marijuana, along with indicia of narcotic sales."
The arrests included Kevin Aguilar, Vanessa Gonzalez, Arnoldo Gonzalez, Emilio Solis, Salvador Zavala, and Hernan Castillo, with charges ranging from being under the influence of controlled substances to possession and intent to sell narcotics. Lorraine Hatcher was also cited and later released. The report specified various Health and Safety code violations for which each individual was booked or cited.
Of note, the detailed account provided by the Moorpark Police stated, "Vanessa Gonzalez was arrested and booked for HS 11378-Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale, HS 11364 - Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia, HS 11395(b)(1) – Two or More Convictions of Possession of Narcotics, and HS 11359 – Possession of Marijuana for Sale." These actions reflect a concerted effort by local law enforcement to aggressively combat drug-related activities within the community.
