
The Metropolitan Police Department is in the midst of an ongoing investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred on Congress Street in Southeast DC. As reported by the MPD's official release, last Tuesday, officers were called to the 1300 block of Congress Street, where they found 30-year-old Devonta Prince Williams with a gunshot wound. Despite being swiftly transported to the hospital by DC Fire and EMS, Williams ultimately did not survive his injuries.
Tragically, Williams passed away several days on Sunday. In an effort to locate and quickly to apprehend those responsible, authorities are reaching out to the community for assistance. The MPD is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator or perpetrators, underlining the severity of the incident and the urgency with which they are treating this case.
