On an early morning in Milford, the local police department, collaborating with the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, nabbed a wanted individual, Bernaddy Mondesir, after a search operation conducted at a Highland Street address. As reported in a social media post from the Milford Police, Mondesir, hailing from Brockton, was facing charges across the spectrum, from assault with a dangerous weapon to drug offenses and even fraud; he managed to rake up seven active warrants before the long arm of the law caught up with him.
The police operation, which took place at approximately 8:13 a.m. on 160 Highland St., saw Mondesir attempting a failed escape, only to be promptly detained and taken in for booking—and this series of events unfolded without further incident, the Milford Police Department described the apprehension process in more detail in their online posting. The Chief of Police, Robert Tusino, extended his gratitude to the Massachusetts State Police VFAS for their "assistance in removing a wanted felon from our community."
Mondesir was then taken from the back of a squad car to the courtroom for arraignment, following the usual procedure after an arrest. While the court will decide the outcome, the presumption of innocence remains a core principle, as the Milford Police Department noted, emphasizing that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
