As the holiday season ramps up, Nashville’s spirit of giving is in full swing. Residents have until tomorrow to donate to the annual U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots drive, with organizers reminding the community that the deadline is quickly approaching, as per the county's announcement.
The Davidson County Register of Deeds Office is serving as this year’s donation drop-off site. Community members can bring new, unwrapped toys to the office’s new location at 300 Deaderick Street in Nashville. The drive aims to brighten the holidays for 7,000 families across the region, underscoring that every contribution makes a meaningful difference. Register of Deeds Karen Johnson sees community service as more than just a job—it's a calling.
"Community service is at the center of our mission," she said. "We encourage everyone who can to donate by Friday and help us make a meaningful difference for families this holiday season," as noted by the county's website. The Toys for Tots program and the Davidson County Register of Deeds Office offer more details on their websites for anyone seeking additional information.
The Register of Deeds Office is more than a routine government department. It’s a key constitutional office responsible for maintaining legal property records. The office is currently led by Karen Johnson, the first woman and first African American elected to this position.
