Collin Seaman works in IT for Nevada County by day, but performs onstage in "Annie." at Grass Valley’s Center for the Arts, where he played Rooster opposite his girlfriend, Dakota Lynch. A longtime theater participant since his early role in "The Wizard of Oz," he balanced his technical job with the recent Lyric Rose Community Theatre production, as reported by the County of Nevada.
According to the County of Nevada, Seaman enjoyed portraying the charming con man and said, "It is so much fun to play a character playing another character," which reflects his enthusiasm for the layered role. His "Easy Street" number with Lynch was noted in local reviews as a comic standout.
Seaman balanced his full-time county job with a busy theater schedule, often going straight from work to rehearsals. His partner, Lynch, helped behind the scenes. “For the last week or so of the rehearsal process, I spent the vast majority of my free time preparing for the show,” Seaman said. Dinner was usually late, around 9:30 p.m. After the production, he does not plan to start another show soon and will focus on his county IT job, which he enjoys: “It’s rewarding to help the community and to solve the kinds of technical issues that I work on every day,” as stated by the County of Nevada.
