The Town of Rolesville recently updated its Board of Commissioners with the swearing-in of new and returning members, as well as the appointment of a Mayor Pro Tem at the Monday's meeting. According to the town’s release, Jennifer Bernat was sworn in as a newly elected Commissioner, joining incumbents April Sneed and Dan T. Alston. All three Commissioners have expressed their commitment to serving the community and supporting both residents and visitors.
After the swearing-in, Commissioner Alston was appointed Mayor Pro Tem, following approval by the Board. Mayor Ronnie Currin also assigned liaison roles based on each member’s expertise and interests. Commissioner Sneed will serve as liaison to the Rolesville Parks & Recreation Board, Long, Jr. will work with the Planning Board, Bernat will handle Public Safety, Alston will oversee Veterans Affairs, and Michael Paul will act as liaison for Senior Citizens Affairs.
The town recognized the service of former Commissioner Paul Vilga, who served eight years on the Board and acted as liaison to the Rolesville Parks & Recreation Board. In appreciation of his contributions, Vilga was presented with a plaque commemorating his years of service to the community.
