New Braunfels residents can help shape the city’s future, as several board and committee positions are now open. Applications, including for redevelopment projects and parks, are accepted through January 5, 2026.

TIRZ #2 for River Mill is seeking members to oversee the redevelopment of the Mission Valley Mill complex. The site has been vacant since 2005, and the city plans a mixed-use development, according to the City of New Braunfels.

The establishment of TIRZ #4 and TIRZ #5 this year supports efforts to revitalize Zipp Park and the West End. Board members will make decisions on financing and project approvals, using tax increments to fund local projects.

Volunteers are also needed for the Downtown Parking Revenue Advisory Standing Committee. Part of the Downtown Board, the committee meets twice a year to guide parking revenue investments. Applications and details are available on the city’s website.
