Northwest Las Vegas will see improved traffic flow with the opening of a new stretch of Sheep Mountain Parkway on Thursday. The 1,800-foot two-lane extension connects Iron Mountain Road to Kyle Canyon Road, aiming to make commuting smoother for local drivers, according to the City of Las Vegas.
As part of the project, Kyle Canyon Road received new asphalt from Rufus Road to Alpine Ridge Way, and intersections at Sheep Mountain Parkway were upgraded. Ward 6 Councilwoman Nancy Brune will lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m. south of Kyle Canyon Road, as reported by the City of Las Vegas.
The $7.7 million project in northwest Las Vegas, funded by the city, included road construction by Las Vegas Paving Corporation and design by Westwood Professional Services Inc, as stated by the City of Las Vegas. The project added a newly paved road and extended the trail along Sheep Mountain Parkway to Kyle Canyon Road.
