A couple from North Carolina faces severe criminal charges after being indicted for the murder of one man at the Stony Brook Yacht Club earlier in November. In an announcement by Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney, as reported by Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, Victor Panebianco, 32, and Kacy Corso, 33, were charged with Murder in the Second Degree following the death of Corso’s ex-boyfriend, Christopher Millwater, 52, of Selden.

According to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, the incident took place in the early morning hours of November 10. A 911 call was made by a fisherman who found an unconscious Millwater at around 3:42 a.m. in the yacht club's parking lot. Police and EMS discovered the victim with stab wounds and quickly transported him to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The authorities have since worked to piece together the events that led to unfold, ultimately leading to the apprehension of the suspects.

The investigation involved witness interviews, as well as video and audio surveillance. This evidence suggests a violent confrontation that ended fatally. After a series of events detailed in the allegations, Millwater was found bleeding, having received two stab wounds. He reportedly asked, "You're stabbing me?" in the moments before his death. Investigators claim that after the stabbing, Panebianco further assaulted the victim by kicking him in the head, prior to fleeing the scene with Corso, as per the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.

Panebianco and Corso's whereabouts were tracked using cellular telephone records, which allegedly show the couple arrived in New York shortly before the murder and fled the state thereafter. The collaboration between Suffolk County Police Department’s Homicide Squad and the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina led to Panebianco's arrest. Corso was held by Suffolk County Police. "Today’s indictment," Tierney said, "reflects our unwavering commitment to seeking justice for victims of violent crime," during the office's dedication to hold accountable those responsible for such acts, as noted by the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.

The case is currently proceeding with Assistant District Attorney Sheetal Shetty of the Homicide Bureau leading the prosecution. Both Panebianco and Corso have been arraigned and are being held without bail. They face 25 years to life in prison if convicted. Represented by lawyers Jonathan Manley and Christopher Gioe, their court dates are set for January 2026.
