Miami Beach is getting a new food hotspot as Prince Street Pizza opens its first Florida location. A staple from NYC has found a new spot on Lincoln Road to dish out their famous slices. The pizza joint is known for its SoHo squares and classic New York style rounds. Lorenzo Hidalgo, of Prince Street Pizza, said in a WSVN interview, “This is our 18th location overall. However, this is the first location in Miami, in Florida specifically.”
Bringing New York flavor to the Miami heat, the Prince Street Pizza grand opening celebration featured a collaboration with Miami fashion designer Sigal Cohen of SIGAL. With fresh slices in one hand and limited-edition pieces in another, guests were treated to DJ sets, giveaways, and $25 gift cards, available for the first 25 arrivals. Amidst the fanfare, the brand’s cult-favorite SoHo Squares and Spicy Spring™ slices were the stars of the show, according to a post by the pizza maker's Instagram.
Hidalgo explains the secret behind the success of their pizzas is none other than the water — "We have a company called New York Watermaker, and we have a filtration system in the back, so what it does is we’ll send them a sample here of the Miami water, they take it back to New York, they’ll balance the pH, and we have New York water running in the back," he told WSVN. This dedication to authenticity has resulted in a menu that's a veritable map of New York's SoHo neighborhood, with pies named after its famous streets.
Among the top-selling Sicilian pies at Prince Street Pizza, "The Spicy Spring" holds the number one spot. "Spicy marinara sauce, Fra Diavolo pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, pretty basic, that’s what put us on the map," Hidalgo shared with WSVN. Riding closely behind is "The Naughty Pie," a spicy vodka sauce-based pizza perfected with mozzarella, pepperoni, ricotta, and a drizzle of hot honey. With a nod to the traditionalists, "The Original Prince" tops off the selection, keeping the round pizza lovers in check.
Prince Street Pizza brings its no-frills, New York–style dining experience to Miami Beach, where customers are encouraged to grab a slice and move on. The restaurant is located at 521 Lincoln Road, and lingering isn’t part of the plan. As Hidalgo puts it, "Absolutely, New York-style, you get in, you get the heck out," as noted by WSVN.
