If you’re like us, your garbage and recycling are probably overflowing this week. We thought now would be a good time to remind you what can and can’t be recycled, according to the City of Oak Creek's Facebook post.

Items that can be recycled include flattened cardboard (no pieces over 4 feet), newspaper, magazines, and office paper. You can also recycle plastic #1 and #2 containers, aluminum cans, steel (tin) cans, and glass bottles and jars, as reported by the City of Oak Creek.

Items that are not recyclable include holiday light strings, cords, and other “tanglers,” as well as plastic bags, plastic film, and wrap. Styrofoam, batteries, electronics, tissue paper, and photo cards or cards with music, lights, glitter, or ribbons should also stay out of the recycling bin.
