Residents of Okmulgee and nearby areas were invited to provide input on the future of a section of US-75. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation held a public open house meeting yesterday to gather feedback on proposed improvements to the highway between US-62 and SH-56. The project involves reconstructing the existing pavement and upgrading sidewalk infrastructure.
To facilitate participation, the department held the session in a come-and-go format at the Okmulgee Public Library’s basement meeting room instead of following a formal presentation. According to an official announcement from the State of Oklahoma, ODOT is accepting comments in person, by email at [email protected], or by phone at 405-325-3269 through Dec. 29.
Since Nov. 27, project details have been available on ODOT’s website for public review. This allows residents to examine the information at their convenience prior to the public meeting. For those unable to attend the open house, the online option provided an alternative way to stay informed and submit feedback on the project.
Although the open house has concluded, the opportunity to provide feedback remains open. The department is accepting comments on the proposed changes through late this month.
