The Olympia local Police Department Business Office is shutting down earlier than usual for the holiday. According to a recent social media post by the Olympia Police Department, the OPD Business Office will close at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24, and will not resume normal hours until Monday, December 29, at 9:00 a.m.
While the business office might be taking a short break, the city's protection continues uninterrupted. The Olympia Police have confirmed that Patrol Officers and Crisis Response Unit will still be working their normal shifts through the holidays. Office staff, however, will be reachable by phone the day after Christmas for those needing assistance on December 26. Always remember, for emergencies, dial 9-1-1, and for non-emergencies, you can call 360.704.2740. The business line, for non-urgent services, is available at 360.753.8300.
In between holiday preparations, if Olympia locals need to get in touch with their law enforcement, they have options based on the urgency of their situation. It's a balance of maintaining public safety while also respecting the observance of the season by allowing law enforcement officers and office staff to have time with their families.
