
Early this morning, a collision between a semi-truck and a pickup truck resulted in one fatality and road closures in Leesburg. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. at the junction of County Road 473 and Lake Eustis Drive, as first reported by ClickOrlando. A 2016 semi-truck with a trailer was involved in a crash with a 2005 Ford F-150.
The driver of the Ford F-150 was declared deceased at the scene, while the semi-truck operator, a 67-year-old man from Arkansas, and his passenger, a 63-year-old man also from Arkansas, emerged uninjured from the ordeal. The Florida Highway Patrol has begun an investigation into the events leading up to the tragedy. Meanwhile, a passenger from the Ford F-150 was transferred to a hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening, as confirmed by WESH.
Following the crash, authorities have initiated a roadblock that has affected traffic in both directions on County Road 473. Local drivers have been advised to use Radio Road as an alternative route until the road is reopened to the public.
