An Orange County gymnastics coach has been taken into custody over allegations of sexual misconduct involving an underage girl. Jacob Alexander Demmin, 25, of Yorba Linda, was arrested on charges that include sodomy with a person under 18 years, contacting a minor with intent to commit lewd acts, and sexual penetration with a foreign object.

Demmin, identified by the Orange County Sheriff's Department, was still actively coaching at Ultimate Ninjas Gym in Anaheim Hills before his arrest. This follows an investigation initiated earlier in December after the victim reached out upon discovering that Demmin was still in a position to potentially continue to actively coach young students. According to KTLA, the victim alleges she was groomed by Demmin in 2021 while he worked at Firestorm Free Running and Acrobatics Gym in Santa Ana and Westminster.

Authorities have voiced concerns over the possibility of additional victims, given Demmin’s previous access to minors through his coaching roles. As reported by NBC Los Angeles, the Orange County Sheriff's Department encourages anyone with information or those who believe they may have been victimized to come forward and contact their Special Victims Detail.

An anonymous tip line is also available for those wishing to provide information that could assist in the ongoing investigation. "Due to Demmin’s access to minors through his employment, investigators believe there may be additional victims," the sheriff’s department told CBS Los Angeles. Those willing to offer tips anonymously are urged to contact OC Crime Stoppers.

The full scope of Demmin’s interactions with minors is currently under examination as investigators work to ensure a thorough and responsible investigation into these grave allegations. Further updates will be provided pending the results of the ongoing legal proceedings and law enforcement inquiries.
