An 18-year-old man identified as Rafael O'Reilly Lerner is currently detained with no bond in the Orange County jail, facing multiple sex crimes charges, including sexual battery and false imprisonment. The Orange County Sheriff's Office has expressed concern that there may be additional victims who have not come forward, due to an alleged pattern of emotional and physical brutality by Lerner. Lerner ingratiates himself with young women and then allegedly coerces them into sex, according to information acquired by WFTV.
Law enforcement officials have described Lerner's methods as particularly manipulative and violent, where he "ingratiates himself to young women, coerces them into sex, becomes extremely violent and videotapes and photographs his victims during sex," then subsequently threatens to expose those recordings to coerce and intimidate his victims, a statement obtained by ClickOrlando elaborates on his alleged modus operandi.
Lerner, who made his initial court appearance this past Wednesday, is currently forbidden from contacting victims and witnesses, using the internet, or possessing any weapons or firearms by order of the presiding judge, a precaution emphasized in the coverage of his court proceeding by ClickOrlando.
