Residents of Durham with an eye for a deal or a knack for restoration had the chance to size up their potential new rides this weekend. The City of Durham Fleet Auction opened its doors on-site for the public to preview over 140 vehicles and pieces of equipment earmarked for new ownership. Those interested were invited to make their way to 1900 Camden Ave, Durham, NC 27704, to inspect the fleet up close, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, according to a social media post from the City of Durham, NC Government.
The auction also continued online for anyone who couldn’t attend the preview in person. Bidders were told to place their offers by 6 p.m. today, using the city’s online platform. Moving the auction online made it easier for residents to check out the items and take part from anywhere.
The list of vehicles and equipment up for grabs was broad, from sedans and SUVs to larger machinery used in city operations. The event helps Durham clear out older fleet items and make room for updated models that keep city services running smoothly.
Those still interested had time to browse the full list and place a bid through the link provided by the City. With the deadline approaching, both the city and potential buyers were hoping for strong results.
