The Oxnard Police Department has taken into custody Juan Carlos Ruiz, 27, on suspicion of forcible lewd acts upon a child, as reported by NBC Los Angeles. Arrested on December 1, Ruiz is currently being held with the bail set at $1 million. The investigators claim Ruiz is known for contacting juveniles through social media under the handle “juvnstaygetinit” and display name “Juan Gee” before allegedly assaulting them.
According to statements acquired from the Oxnard Police Department's news release, after picking them up, Ruiz allegedly committed the assaults. His criminal behavior may date back at least five years, authorities suspect. Emphasizing the potential breadth of the case, authorities prompted the community to step forward with any pertinent information that could lead to the identification of more victims or witnesses.
Police are making a concerted effort to reach out to the community, believing there may be several unreported cases. With Ruiz's next court appearance scheduled for December 12, 2025, law enforcement is urging anyone with information related to Ruiz or any additional victims to come forward. Urgent in their appeal, Sgt. Jose Díaz from the Family Protection Unit conveyed to NBC Los Angeles, "Investigators have already spoken to some possible victims, but they believe there may be more."
