Last Wednesday, 29-year-old Jal Chuol Pinuieny was fatally struck on the 4200 block of Minnesota Avenue in Northeast. Police say he fell onto the roadway before being hit by a northbound WMATA bus, whose driver stayed at the scene and called 911, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
As officers and Emergency Medical Services attempted life-saving measures, a pickup truck drove through without yielding and struck the victim again before fleeing. Authorities later confirmed Pinuieny’s identity as the investigation into the hit-and-run continues, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.
