A pedestrian was left in critical condition after an accident late Sunday night in the western part of the city. The incident took place near the intersection of Culebra Road and North General McMullen Drive at approximately 11:42 p.m., as per reports from the San Antonio Police Department. A man was hit by a driver in a Honda sedan while crossing Culebra Road, said police.
The injured man received emergency care at the scene and was taken to University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. KENS 5 reported that the driver stayed to render aid. No charges have been filed at this time.
While handling the crash site, police stopped a vehicle that breached the flare line. The driver was arrested on drug possession charges, according to FOX San Antonio.
