Pennsylvania’s Shapiro Administration is encouraging residents to support U.S. service members through this year’s Trees for Troops campaign. The program, highlighted by PAcast, provides farm-grown Christmas trees and handwritten holiday messages to military personnel and their families. The initiative will kick off with an official event featuring state leaders.
Expected to attend the kickoff event are Pennsylvania First Lady Lori Shapiro, Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding, and Maj. Gen. Michael E. Wegscheider, along with Jay Bustard of Bustard’s Christmas Trees. The partnership between state leaders and local growers supports the Trees for Troops program, which has delivered more than 309,000 Christmas trees to military families worldwide since 2005.
The kickoff event for this year’s Trees for Troops drive will take place Tomorrow at Bustard's Tree Farm, 2210 Bustard Road in Lansdale. Media interested in covering the event are encouraged to RSVP at [email protected].
