The Plant City Police Department officers, with their families in tow, are taking center stage in the annual holiday cheer episode. This time, they've taken it upon themselves to ensure local kids have a joyful season, as detailed in a recent social media post. "Santa called… and he had a request!" the Plant City Police Department shared on their Facebook page. The legendary figure apparently tipped off the PCPD about some families in the community who could benefit from a little extra help this holiday season.
The PCPD wasn't shy in responding. They're engaging in what has become a heartfelt tradition – shops for toys to be given to local children at the Tinsel Tidings event. The department's officers have contributed to a special cause by donating to the PCPD Beard Charity Fund, enabling them the privilege of brandishing festive facial hair throughout the year. It's their own way of being Santa, sans the red suit, and these acts indeed bring forth the holiday glow in the eyes of the children they’re helping.
The Plant City Police Department describe the joy in their post, affirming "We’re grateful to be able to help spread a little holiday cheer, even if the officers insist they’re not Santa’s Elves — they just happen to look a lot like them this time of year."
