Polk County is seeking a volunteer to join the Lakes Access Advisory Committee, which works to improve public access to the region's lakes.
The committee, made up of 10 members appointed by county commissioners, explores ways to improve public access to Polk County's lakes. Each commissioner nominates two members for staggered three-year terms, ensuring continuity. Members meet as needed to conduct research and provide recommendations to the commission.
Polk County residents interested in environmental issues or community engagement can join the committee to help improve equitable access to local lakes.
Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter explaining their interest to [email protected] by Jan. 9, 2026.
