
A quiet pre-dawn hour in Chicago’s Belmont Cragin neighborhood turned deadly Thursday when a 39-year-old man was shot and killed inside a home on the northwest side, authorities said.
The shooting happened at about 4:34 a.m. in the 5100 block of West Deming Place. The man was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Police have not announced any arrests, and the case remains wide open.
According to ABC7 Chicago, officers found the 39-year-old inside the residence with a gunshot wound to the chest. The outlet reports that no one was in custody and that Area Five detectives are leading the investigation.
