The City of Raleigh has announced closures of certain services in observance of the holiday. City administrative offices will be closed on Thursday. Officials noted that essential emergency services, including police, fire, and rescue, will continue operating and can be reached through the 9-1-1 system.
Trash and recycling services in Raleigh will operate on a modified schedule due to the New Year’s Day holiday. The city announced that collections will be delayed by one day starting Thursday, with services resuming on the adjusted schedule for the remainder of the week. The City of Raleigh Yard Waste Center will be closed on New Year’s Day. The facility will reopen and resume normal operations following the holiday, according to the City of Raleigh.
