Raleigh residents with an interest in urban planning have a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of the city's growth and development processes. The City of Raleigh is welcoming applications for the Planning Academy, a free educational series set to take place this winter.

The academy, targeted at adults 18 and older, is intended to demystify the mechanisms that guide land development decisions and rezoning cases in Raleigh, providing participants with insights on when and how to effectively get involved in the planning process. With limited seats capped at 25 for each session, the city aims to offer a focused, interactive learning environment—classes will run on Wednesdays: February 4, 11, 18, 25, and March 4 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The City of Raleigh's Planning Academy offers residents a hands-on opportunity to learn about the issues and processes that shape the city's built environment. The program aims to give participants the knowledge and tools to contribute to community planning discussions.

Applications are open through January 4 at 11:59 p.m. Each resident's perspective is considered valuable. For more information and to apply, visit the city's Planning Academy page.
