RH Outlet is stepping into part of the former Nordstrom anchor at Arden Fair Mall, giving new life to a three-story vacancy that has loomed over the center since 2020. The move continues a multi-year push to reimagine the big-box anchors along Arden Way.
According to the Sacramento Business Journal, RH Outlet will occupy a portion of the building Nordstrom left behind in 2020. The outlet's exact square footage and opening date have not yet been disclosed.
Leasing Details And Hiring Signals
Job postings on Indeed list several "RH Outlet" positions in the Arden Fair area, tied to the address 1651 Arden Way, which lines up with the old Nordstrom site. The openings, including sales and stock roles, suggest the outlet is actively building its team ahead of the official launch.
Nordstrom's Exit Left A Large Anchor To Fill
Nordstrom shut down its Arden Fair store in May 2020, leaving a sizable three-story shell at the height of pandemic-related cutbacks. CBS Sacramento reported the closure at the time, and mall ownership has been working since then to fill the gap.
Mall Strategy And What To Expect
Mall owner Fulcrum bought the vacant Nordstrom parcel in 2021 and has been reshaping its anchor spaces to attract modern national brands as part of a broader redevelopment plan. Wikipedia notes the acquisition and subsequent tenant changes, including recent openings from Uniqlo and H&M at Arden Fair.
RH Outlet's arrival is another signal that the mall is leaning into outlet-style and experience-focused retail to keep shoppers coming back. This story will be updated when RH or Arden Fair management announces a firm opening date.
