Travelers in Destrehan and surrounding St. Charles Parish areas should prepare for a series of road and lane closures impacting local traffic patterns. According to the latest updates from the St. Charles Parish government announcements, Jonathan Street will be closed for an undetermined period, with emergency traffic being rerouted through Bunge’s heavy haul road to access Noel Street and bypass Lorraine Street.

Meanwhile, Ormond Center Court is experiencing obstructions between 150 Ormond Center Court and 3001 Ormond Blvd due to ongoing road construction. A detour for vehicle traffic has been established to facilitate passage around the area. Notably, the St. Charles Parish has informed the public of the intermittent and alternating lane closures on LA 3127, that started on Monday, November 3, and are expected to last until Friday, October 30, 2026, as crews work on installing drainage structures and implementing an asphalt mill and overlay.

Attention must be paid to the permit restrictions, which limit oversize loads to a maximum of 12 feet in width along the affected routes. The recommended detours will direct motorists traveling east on LA 3127 to take LA 3213 north to LA 641, then continue to I-10, I-310, and finally reconnect with LA 3127. Those heading west will be redirected from I-310 north to I-10, then to LA 641, down to LA 3213 before rejoining LA 3127, as detailed by the St. Charles Parish.

In addition to these closures, LA 3127 lanes will be subject to single lane and shoulder intermittent closures from December 6, 2025, through to the end of February in the following year, as reported by the St. Charles Parish Roads Update. The areas affected stretch from I-310 to LA 3142, and the closures are due to utility work and permit requirements taking place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. during weekdays, and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends. The same conditions apply to LA 3160, where eastbound and westbound traffic will face similar intermittent closures from LA 3127 to the Railroad Crossing.
