Drivers in Durham should be aware that Robbins Road will be fully closed for stormwater repairs. The closure will affect the area near N.C. 98 beginning December 8. The work is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through December 16, weather permitting, and motorists are advised to use alternate routes during this period, according to the N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT).
The roadwork update notes that both lanes of Robbins Road will be closed, with access limited to local residents using Sherron Road. Robbins Road will not be accessible from N.C. 98 during the closure. A detour will be in place: westbound traffic on N.C. 98 will be directed to Sherron Road, and northbound traffic on Sherron Road will be routed back to N.C. 98.
NCDOT warns that commuters in the area may experience delays due to the Robbins Road closure. Drivers are advised to plan ahead, follow posted detour signs, and drive safely through the work zone.
