Police in Roseville arrested a couple after a 7-year-old girl died. According to the Roseville Police Department on their Facebook page, 26-year-old Jessica Savangsy and 27-year-old Retuquel Dupree were arrested on suspicion of murder. Early on Monday morning, officers responded to a medical call at a home on Oahu Court and found the 7-year-old girl unresponsive. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A 5-year-old girl at the same home was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Savangsy and Dupree, reportedly in a dating relationship and living at the residence where the children were found, face charges including murder, conspiracy, and felony child abuse. Two other children in the home were asleep and unharmed during the incident, and the couple was booked into the South Placer County Jail.
The Roseville Police praised their team, saying, "Thank you to our Roseville patrol officers and Roseville Fire partners who responded to the scene and our Detectives who worked diligently to investigate this case. Our hearts go out to those who have been impacted by this tragic loss," as reported by CBS News Sacramento. Investigators are seeking information from anyone with knowledge of the events. Authorities continue their investigation as the community and families respond to the situation.
