The Sacramento Police Department, in collaboration with Downtown Commons, has opened a new SPD Bike Unit office at 320 K Street to boost officer presence and response times in downtown Sacramento. The office aims to strengthen community engagement and provide a strategic base in one of the city’s busiest areas, as reported by the Sacramento Police Department.
SPD Sergeant Dan Wiseman said, “This partnership with DOCO represents a shared commitment to supporting a vibrant downtown environment. Having this dedicated space allows our officers to operate more efficiently and remain closely connected to the community they serve." The office will serve as a hub for officers to engage directly with residents, shoppers, and diners throughout the downtown district, as stated by the Sacramento Police Department.
According to the Sacramento Police Department on their Facebook page, Sacramento Kings COO Matina Kolokotronis said, “We’re proud to partner with the Sacramento Police Department to bring this new Bike Unit office to DOCO,” and "Our collaboration underscores a shared dedication to creating a safe, welcoming, and vibrant downtown experience for everyone who lives, works, and visits our dynamic plaza.” The new SPD Bike Unit office, set to open by early 2026, will support safety and access in Downtown Commons and connect law enforcement with local businesses and residents.
