The Sacramento Police Department announced on their social media that the 4th Annual Illuminate campaign, hosted by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), had taken place, serving as both a tribute and a warning against the dangers of impaired driving.
According to a Facebook post by the Sacramento Police Department, 'This powerful campaign honors and remembers the victims of impaired driving.' Held during the holiday season, the campaign coincides with one of the most dangerous times on the roads.
Red, MADD’s signature color, represents the strength and courage of survivors, victims, and their families. The illuminated buildings highlight the preventable tragedies that occur on the roads during the holiday season.
