However, as the evening sets in, the weather is expected to take a slight turn, with the NWS reporting a transition to partly cloudy skies and a low around 28 degrees, still under calm wind conditions. Entering the second half of the week, partial sunshine is forecasted, with highs creeping up near 48 degrees. Wednesday night's weather will shift again, bringing a 50 percent chance of rain after 11 pm and an overcast sky that will settle at around 35 degrees, as reported by the National Weather Service.
The NWS outlook, published on December 30th, indicates that New Year's Day is to be a rainy commencement to 2025 with a high temperature that's forecasted near 50 degrees. South winds are expected to grow to around 5 mph in the afternoon, enhancing the likelihood of precipitation up to 90 percent.
These rainy patterns are set to extend through the week. For Thursday night, NWS forecasts an 80 percent chance of rain with a low around 41 degrees. The upcoming weekend does not promise much respite from the drizzle either. Friday could see a 30 percent chance of rain before 11 am, followed by a "mostly cloudy" day with a high of around 54 degrees. Continuing into Saturday, chances of rain persist, as indicated by "mostly cloudy" conditions and a high near 52 degrees, turning to a chance of rain and a low around 38 in the night.
The detailed forecast anticipates similar patterns continuing into the following week, with Sunday and Sunday night both looking at the possibility of rain amid mostly cloudy skies, as well as a slight possibility of rain on Monday, offering a brief potential break in the wet weather with partly sunny skies and a high forecasted near 48 degrees.
