The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) is seeking assistance from the public to identify a man's body found in a Southwest Side field. The remains were found on December 9 around 2 p.m. in the 6900 block of Quintana Road, near Southwest Military Drive, as reported by KSAT. The SAPD stated that the body was in the "advanced stages of decomposition," making the identification process more challenging, according to KSAT.

According to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office, the body is of a Hispanic man believed to be between 25 and 48 years old, standing about 5 feet, 7 inches tall. Found in an empty lot, the Medical Examiner's office has yet to determine the man's cause of death or how long he had been deceased by the time he was discovered.

In a bid to identify the man, SAPD released several photos of the clothes found with the body. The images, acquired by KSAT, show a short-sleeve orange button-down, a blue jacket, a red University of Houston T-shirt, and white or gray sweatpants. The police hope that these items may be recognized by those who knew the man.

"Help us bring peace of mind to a family this holiday season," SAPD said in a statement, which was obtained by Fox San Antonio. As death's circumstances remain unclear, police have encouraged anyone with information regarding the identity of the man or the details surrounding his death to reach out to the SAPD Homicide Unit at 210-207-7635.
