Two men, Francis Eugene Morato and Marvin Anthony Dismuke, have recently faced the legal consequences of their violent actions dating back to an October 2023 incident outside a San Bruno bar. According to the San Mateo County District Attorney's social media post, Morato, now aged 22, has been handed a three-year prison sentence for his part in the attack. It was reported that the altercation began when a bar patron confronted Morato and his accomplice, Dismuke, regarding their behavior of shooting patrons with an Orbeez gel gun.

The situation escalated quickly after the initial confrontation. Following a fistfight, Dismuke used a butterfly knife to repeatedly stab the victim while Morato continued to kick and punch him. The KRON4 report detailed that the 36-year-old victim was left with approximately 20 stab wounds, necessitating the removal of his spleen in an emergency surgery and a stay in a medically induced coma for his recovery.

Law enforcement arrived on the scene to find Dismuke covered in blood and in possession of the weapon used in the attack. Dismuke, who is now 21, has since reached a plea deal in his case by pleading no contest to several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and battery causing serious bodily injury. This deal proposes a maximum prison term of five years for Dismuke, with a felony charge for possessing drugs or alcohol in jail being dismissed as part of the plea.

On the other hand, Morato has pleaded not guilty to charges leveled against him, which include battery causing serious bodily injury and assault likely to produce bodily injury. "His case was continued to Wednesday for jury trial assignment," according to a KRON4 report. Sentencing for Dismuke is now set for March 4.
