Scottsdale residents and visitors can now experience smoother rides and improved parking courtesy of the city's expanded Fall 2025 Paving Program. A substantial investment of $18.5 million was channeled to refurbish streets, parking lots, and alleys, concentrating efforts especially in the historic and bustling Old Town area. According to the details shared by the city's official news release, this figure eclipses the approximately $7 million spent in the Fall of 2024.
The strategic focus was to not only preserve but to also enhance asphalt infrastructure, essential for the daily operations of Scottsdale. Notably, the fall paving activities primarily aim to repair and to maintain roads in order to prolong their usefulness. Old Town Scottsdale, a hub of activity, got significant attention with $7 million of the larger budget dedicated to this specific sector.
Over 1.5 million square yards of city terrain received a much-needed facelift, with the Old Town Pavement Improvement Project covering nearly 368,000 square yards. A successful collaboration entailed city staff working with 16 contractors and subcontractors. The projects in Old Town were phased carefully, as mentioned in the city's announcement, “to maintain access to businesses, attractions and neighborhoods while ensuring safe travel for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.” For those interested in learning more about the pavement preservation and upcoming projects in Scottsdale, a visit to the city’s website offers further insight.
