Authorities in Orange County are on the lookout for a hit-and-run driver responsible for a fatal collision on Silver Star Road near Le Havre Boulevard in Pine Hills. The incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. Yesterday, a pedestrian was left dead, and a Honda Accord driver with minor injuries, as reported by WFTV.
The Florida Highway Patrol detailed that a 2003 Honda Accord was moving eastbound when a pedestrian entered the roadway and was hit. According to WESH, the Honda driver stopped to assist the injured pedestrian, but in a tragic turn of events, both were struck by another vehicle, a blue Chevy Malibu. The driver of this vehicle briefly checked for damage before fleeing the scene.
Witness descriptions have identified the second vehicle as a blue Chevy Malibu, which should now exhibit front-end damage and be missing its driver's side mirror. The vehicle was helmed by an adult male wearing a black hoodie, who remains at large.
The pedestrian, who has yet to be identified, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
