A 39-year-old convicted felon was taken into custody by Seattle police officers after using a stolen vehicle to ram into a police car, resulting in injuries to two officers in the Chinatown-International District.

According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), around 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a man asleep in a sports car in an underground garage at 400 South Jackson Street. The car had been reported stolen on November 24. The man woke up and struck a police car, and officers used a taser to subdue him during the arrest.

The felon, whose identity is withheld due to the ongoing investigation, was arrested with a gun and charged with multiple offenses, including three counts of Assault in the 1st Degree, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer, Narcotics Possession, two misdemeanor warrants for Driving While License Suspended, and three felony warrants for Burglary.

Seattle Fire Department treated two officers with minor injuries and evaluated them at a hospital due to blood exposure. After a medical evaluation at Harborview Medical Center, the suspect was booked into King County Jail. Police recovered a stolen handgun, ammunition, drugs, and burglary tools. The suspect, previously barred from owning firearms, now faces additional charges.
