
Two people are recovering after a car collision that occurred over the weekend in North Amityville, Suffolk County. According to ABC7NY, the head-on crash happened around 8:30 p.m. yesterday on Schleigel Boulevard. Authorities reported that a 28-year-old man driving a Jeep Cherokee was traveling south when the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Volkswagen.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the Volkswagen, 34-year-old Henry Foster of Forest Hills, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. The ABC7NY report also stated that a 28-year-old female passenger in the Volkswagen was injured, though her injuries were not considered life-threatening. Both individuals were removed from the vehicle and transported for medical treatment.
Following the crash, one vehicle came to rest on a residential lawn, while the other stopped in front of a church. Suffolk County police impounded both vehicles for further safety inspections as part of the investigation. Authorities reported that Devieux was not injured in the incident.
Suffolk County police continue to investigate the crash and are requesting information from any witnesses or individuals who may have knowledge about the circumstances surrounding the collision.
