Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is opening at the former Fuddruckers location at 7250 Hwy 6 N. The 5,698-square-foot building is being renovated and is expected to open in early 2026. The new Fuzzy’s Tacos & Margs will have a bar, an outdoor deck, and a focus on margaritas. This is the first Houston-area project by the franchisee.
A state project registration lists the build as “Fuzzy's Taco Shop at HWY 6” at the Hwy 6 address, with work starting December 1 and an estimated completion date of January 9, 2026. The filing reports a $150,000 interior renovation and identifies Hnreck Nazarian as the tenant. It also notes interior paint and finish upgrades, a new bar and an outdoor wood deck for the space that formerly housed Fuddruckers, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Local Brand, National Growth
Fuzzy’s is best known for its Baja-style tacos and a drinks lineup heavy on margaritas and frozen ritas. The concept, founded in Fort Worth in 2003, now offers a broad menu of tacos, enchiladas and shareable plates that pair with a fuller bar program, as per Fuzzy’s Taco Shop.
Nazarian Group’s Houston Push
The Hwy 6 location is being developed by Nazarian Global Enterprises, led by Hnreck Nazarian and his sons Miro and Andrew. The group signed a multi-unit deal to bring roughly 25 Fuzzy’s restaurants to the Houston market over the next several years, as part of a larger expansion into Texas and Arizona that named NGE as a major Houston franchise partner, as noted by Business Wire.
What Now Houston reports that Hnreck Nazarian briefly confirmed the Hwy 6 opening but did not commit to a firm grand-opening date. Local filings suggest the build-out should wrap by early 2026. For neighbors along the Hwy 6 corridor, the project means a vacant big-box restaurant is on track to flip into a busy taco-and-margarita hub, likely bringing new service jobs and a late-night dining option back to the strip.
