Tragedy struck early morning on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring when a 2017 Toyota Corolla collided with a pedestrian, ultimately leading to a fatality. Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police- Collision Reconstruction Unit have identified the victim as 69-year-old Theresa "Terri" Winona Nagle of Silver Spring and have made a public appeal for assistance in locating her next of kin, according to the Montgomery County Government.
The collision occurred at around 6:10 a.m., south of Silver Spring Avenue, and emergency responders from the 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue were dispatched to the site. Upon arrival, they found that Nagle was struck while crossing Georgia Avenue. Despite prompt transportation to an area hospital, Nagle succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. According to official statements, the driver of the Toyota was involved in the incident that took Nagle's life during what seems to be a routine crossing of the road.
The Montgomery County Police have not released further details about the driver or the circumstances leading up to the collision. Still, the incident has spurred an active investigation to understand the sequence of events that unfolded during the tragic morning hours.
